It has been a long term and the children are getting tired after working so hard in school over the past few weeks; however, they have continued to show great enthusiasm for their learning this week. They have imagined what it might have been like to be in London at the time of the Great Fire of 1666 and have planned and written diary entries about the experience.
In maths we have been concentrating on addition, using number bonds to help us add two 1-digit numbers and using dienes apparatus on place value charts to help us add a 1-digit number to a 2-digit number. We have also continued to practise our number bonds because it is so important that we learn them by heart.
Science was fun this week – ask us why we were pulling pairs of tights and stretching them across the classroom!
We hope that you all have a wonderful half term break and a well-earned rest and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
