A very big well done to all of Class 4 who have had a great Term 1. It has been a very busy term and lots of things are different to how school was previously but the children have all coped very well and they should all be proud of what they have achieved.
It has been lovely to meet you all at our parent meetings this week.
This week in English we have finished off our work on The Promise by writing a continuation of the story. Next term we will be reading ‘The Firework Maker’s Daughter’ by Philip Pullman. Unless your child has already done so, please can I ask that children do not read this at home so that they can enjoy the book and work from it as a class.
In science this week we have been investigating which habitat mini beast prefer. After lots of discussion about how we could carry out an investigation, the children made choice chambers in groups with 4 different habitats. We made a prediction about which chamber we thought the mini beast would prefer with reasons for our choice. Then we put a few mini beasts into the chambers and observed what happened. We will be continuing with our science work on habitats for a couple of weeks after half term before moving onto our new topic.
We have had an unnamed school sweatshirt in the classroom for a few weeks. If you think it might be yours, please let me know!
I hope you all have a lovely half term.
