This week in English we have been continuing to read ‘How to Live Forever’. In our writing we have been further exploring features of newspaper reports and we have recapped how to organise information into paragraphs. This week we also started to plan our own newspaper reports based around the missing book, we will be writing these next week. In our reading, we have been focusing on inference skills. We have been learning how to use clues in the text in order to answer questions.
In maths this week we completed our work multiplying numbers by 10 or 100 and then moved on to dividing numbers by 10 and 100. We learnt how when we divide a number by 10, the digits all move one place down the place value grid. Ask us to multiply or divide whole numbers by 10 or 100 (the answer needs to be a whole number.)
In geography, we recapped where we live particularly focusing on the county. We also looked again at the 7 continents of the world and we have started to locate these on our own map.
Lots of information about what we will be learning about in Class 4 this term has been posted on the website, please have a look through it.
Well done to the children who took part in the Rock Steady concert on Monday – we really enjoyed watching you perform.
Class 4 are in need of some cardboard boxes for next Wednesday, ideally with a length/width/depth of very approximately 50cm. If you have a spare box at home, we would be very grateful for it!
