The children have had a brilliant time at writing their stories about Jack and the beanstalk this week. The class have been learning to write the five different parts of the story. The beginning, build up, problem, resolution and end. Class One have also been the purple learners of the week for working so hard with their writing and improving their writing by listening to and acting on feedback.
In Maths this week we have continued to explore multiplication and the vocabulary around it. We have been working with equal groups, repeated addition and arrays. We have learnt that arrays have an equal amount in each row and column. The class have been building and drawing pictorial representations of arrays with multiples of 2, 5, and 10 within 50.
In art this week the class had a very especial message from the fairy from Jack in the beanstalk asking them to design a new castle door. We have been exploring colouring techniques to build up shading and adding patterns so the doors.
