The children wrote some lovely letters last week to send to Dorchester Abbey to thank them for our class trip last week. This week they are going to use what they have learnt from this and from the feedback they have received to write another formal letter to our PTA to thank them for the books they recently bought for us and for the contribution to the trip. We will then write some informal letters based on The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
In maths we have been learning to divide a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number using place value counters and dienes. We started with simple questions that could be easily split then moved onto trickier ones where we needed to exchange our tens for ones and some that gave us remainders.
In topic we learnt about the Monsoon season and made window collages using tissue paper.
We did our first tag ruby lesson this week and learnt about how to hold and throw the ball. We hope to build on the skills for the first few weeks and be able to play some small matches at the end of the term.
In Science we looked at light, shadows and the difference between transparent, translucent and opaque. We carried out an experiment to sort materials into the three groups.
In RE we looked at a Jewish seder meal and considered the differences between Passover and Easter celebrations.
