The children are settling well into the routine of their school day, to help the children settle in the morning can we now ask that adults say goodbye at the door and let the children come into the classroom independently.
This week we have started talking about our families. We have read the poem ‘Big family’ and ‘Small family’ to the children and then the children told the adults their family poem answering the question “Who is in your family?”
We have started to share the story ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell. We talked about the front cover, back cover, author, illustrator, title and blurb. You could discuss this language at home with your child. We then made predictions about the story.
The children have learnt some new sounds s, a, t and p. We have talked about words that begin with these sounds and how to write the letter.
During independent learning time the children have been learning where they can find different resources and how to share using timers.
Have a great weekend,
The Foundation Stage Team.
