Week 4 (29/11/19)

This week in maths, we are consolidating what we have been doing with column subtraction and answering missing number questions. We are thinking about estimating our answers first and checking for mistakes using an inverse sum.

In English we finished our planning and wrote our recount of our class trip to the Earth Trust.  We are writing focussing on fronted adverbials to vary our sentence starters. Next, we will be writing instructions.

In Science we have designed our experiments to consider what plants need to be healthy.

In topic this week we have been learning about Stone Age cave art and have made our own paintings and we have also used computer to research Skara Brae to find out what  the first farms  were like, who lived there, what it was like inside the houses and what sort of tools and objects people made. We had a fantastic morning with Mr Silvester, who showed us how to make an axe and chop.

We are well under way with our preparation for our Christmas Play.  Please ensure that your child practices their lines at home and please let us know if you have any problems with finding a costume for your child.

We will be making Christmas Wreaths in class soon, if you would like to give your child extra items to put on their wreath then please bring them into school.
