In reading this week, we read to the end of ‘How to Live Forever’ by Colin Thompson. We thought carefully about the Ancient Child and what we know about him. We have continued to work on using inference skills to be able to answer questions about what we have read. In English, we finished off our setting descriptions and we worked on giving feedback to a partner. Later in the week we recapped how we can use sentences of 3 in our writing and we started to learn how to correctly punctuate speech. Next week we will be writing our own alternative endings to ‘How to Live Forever’.
In maths we have been very busy using the Cuisenaire rods to represent multiplying 3 single digit numbers such as 3 x 5 x 9. We then learnt how we can draw a bar model based on the Cuisenaire. We then further explored how we can apply commutative law and multiply the 3 numbers in any order. During our fluency session, we have continued to work on representing times table word problems on a bar model. Next week we will be starting to look at factor pairs.
In Computing we have continued to work on creating the scenery for our stop frame animations.
On Wednesday, we all had chance to reflect within Prayer Spaces. Thank you to everyone who helped organise and run this.
