It has been anther busy week in Class 4!
In English this week we have been writing our own informal letters to Mum or Dad from Barney. We chose which part of the story we wanted the letter to be about and we thought carefully about how to include features of informal letters. We have been continuing to work on our use of prepositional phrases and fronted adverbials. We will be finishing our letters and reading the end of ‘Stig of the Dump’ next week.
In maths, we have continued to work on time and we have been learning how to calculate durations of time.
On Thursday, we spent the morning making scones for the school afternoon tea. We all had a great time weighing out the ingredients and mixing the dough. Later in the day we got to try our scones as well as food made by other classes.
This week we have had our RE day (which ended up spreading over 3 days!). We have learnt about Hindu murtis which are images of gods and goddesses used in worship. We thought about things that are important in our own lives e.g. family, music, sport and we represented this on our on murtis. We also learnt about pilgrimages and why they are important to believers of different faiths. In order to try and experience this ourselves, we went on a little pilgrimage to Nuneham Murren Church.
