Support - Children & Families

From time to time we all need support.

"What is the bravest thing you have ever said?" asked the boy...."Help!" said the horse

-Charlie Mackesy

As part of our approach to supporting personal development and ensuring children’s emotional wellbeing is being catered for we have a variety of small groups and support networks to help support children during different stages of their life or during difficult times that they may face.

  • Rafters (Service children)
  • Young Carers

What is a Young Carer?

A young carer is someone under the safe of 18 who regularly helps to look after a relative with a disability, illness or other problem. This can be physical support or emotional support.

What we do in school to support our Young Carers?

We meet once a week for an informal get together with other Young Carers to relax, chat with others and just have some time out.

We are very lucky to be supported by others within the local community this includes:

  • Wallingford School, Young Carers lead who helps us organise trips and events with other Young Carers locally.
  • Be Free Young Carers help us support all our Young Carers in the best way possible, this can include organising visits from a yoga teacher to deliver 'mindful movements' with our children. They also signpost us to other charities that can support us.

If you feel your child would benefit or is a Young Carer please contact Mrs McDowell on

We have also included pages here to support a variety of needs.

Please see our Extending Learning at Home page for ways to support your child(ren) academically.
